Create Customized Topic Links for your HubPages Profile and Increase Traffic!!
I have visited quite a few HubPages Profiles and I am always fascinated by how creative our fellow hubbers can be. One of my favorite techniques is organizing hub niches in the hub profile. This added step generates additional traffic to the hubs you want to feature. All you need to do is create customized topic links for your HubPages profile. Take a look at the easy steps below and you will have a customized topic link too! The image to the right of this text is an example of how I feature customized topic links in my own HubPages profile.
Tips - Once you have the link prepared why not think out of the box? Here are just a few of the other places you could also promote your customized topic links...

Tutorial - How to Create Customized Topic Links
Choose a keyword for the topic you want to create a link for.
- If you want to feature your photography hubs it is very likely that photography is a frequently used word in your hubs and tags. Therefore, photography will be your keyword.
Once you narrow down the keyword you can build your link. Check out the example below.
- I created a topic on my profile for - MissOlive's Hub Design and Photo Hubs
- The keyword I used was 'images'
- I created the hyperlink

http://hubpages.com/author/missolive/images/hot The word 'images' is my keyword The word 'hot' can be changed to 'latest' or 'best'

For the purposes of this tutorial I am naming the referral tracker '_referraltracker' This is how the link should appear - http://hubpages.com/_referraltracker/author/missolive/images/hot Insert the referral tracker AFTER the .com/

If you have not started using your personalized referral tracker it is high time you start. Every hubber has their own referral tracker. You can even create your own. Please see the hub suggestion below for creating a referral tracker. Why?
Fact - you are LOSING additional income when you do not use a referral tracker.
Referral Tracker Facts
- you earn between 9 - 12% of the impressions when the link includes your referral tracker to a fellow hubber's hub
- you earn 30% of the impressions when you refer to the HubPages home page
- you earn 10% of the impressions when a new hubber signs up under your referral tracker

Readers--How to Keep Them - One of the ways we earn income is by the 'impression' made per click. If a reader quickly leaves your page you may not earn the 'impression' needed to record a visit. This is lost income. One way of correcting this is by having your links open into another window. It is also convenient for the reader if they want to refer to both pages simultaneously.

I've been waiting for this. Glad to see it. For anyone who is going to do this, it takes a while for the keywords to be processed and recognized by the system. I had to wait overnight when I was experimenting with it. I thought I was doing it wrong for a while.

homesteadbound - it does take a while for the system to pick up the keywords if the hub is new or, if you are setting up new keywords. Older hubs should be picked up immediately - such as your decorating hubs link that I sent you. However, new ones should kick in within 24 hrs. Thanks for bookmarking and the votes :)
cclitgirl - Screen shots - I'm using a MAC and it has an app called 'GRAB" it is awesome for screenshots. It is similar to windows Snip It. Glad you liked them :)

Ok, call me slow - but how do you get all of your design Hubs to show up on one page? I tried this, but it didn't work for me.
I want all my Hubs for, Children's Resumes, to show up on one page - I have six (6) Hubs on children's resumes.

Kristine - no problem. When you have your name separated you have to add an extra step. You place a + in between your first and last name - I went ahead and created the link for you :)

Kristine - now that you have the link above - all you have to change is the keyword 'resume' and add the keyword of your choice. I hope this helps. :)

Hi Sinea! You insert the tracker after .com/. I created an example for you. By the way, your name is NOT attached like mine is. If this is the case you need to insert a + in between two letters. Sinea+Pies. The link I created for you is for your weight loss related hubs.

I don't know your tracker so I used mine as an example :)
you can replace the word 'weight' with any of your other keywords and it should work. It might take some tweaking. I hope this helps!

Sinea...it cut off some of the link, but it still works. The bottom link is exactly the same as the one above, but includes the tracker. :)
Also, the referral tracker will disappear after you click it, but it still generates/records the impression.
Whoah, this is going to take me some time to understand. But I will read it again (and again) as I have so much trouble understanding this sort of thing. Always something new to learn!
